Athletes compete individually.
Athletes represent our club against nine other centres in our region.
All events are open for competition, but athletes can only choose up to five events.
The top four places qualify for State Level.
Ages U9 upwards only can go through to represent the Region at State Championships.
We encourage all Souths athletes to have a go at this carnival.

www.qsac.com.au/www.qsac.com.au/www.qsac.com.au/The McDonalds State Championships is the final major competition in the LAQ calendar. Athletes from all corners of the State take part in this annual event in the hope of becoming the State Champion in their chosen event.
The U13 State Team (26 athletes - 13 Boys and 13 Girls) is selected at these Championships. The performance of the U13’s at this event plays a significant part in their selection.
Athletes and parents, please come prepared for all types of weather as the competition will only be cancelled under extreme weather conditions.
Eligibility
* Qualifying LAQ athletes U9 - U17’s (1st – 4th place getters summer season; 1st – 3rd Winter Season)
* Additional qualifying LAQ athletes U9 - U17’s (by competing in a final at the Regional Championships and who achieve the “Qualifying Performance Level.” link.).
* LAQ registered U9 - U17’s Multi-Class classified (ambulant and wheelchair). For more specific information regarding LAQ Multi-Class Athlete participation and rules please use this link.
Nomination
Athletes qualify by competing at the Nordic Sport Regional Championships. Nominations for the State Championships (U9 – U17’s) are processed by the Centres. Qualifying athletes must advise their Centre Committee if they are not able to participate as soon as possible.

There are two parts to this competition –
U13 interstate team and U15 multi event Pentathlon. The opportunity to compete in these championships is afforded to only a lucky and talented few. Competitors are chosen by LAQ selectors during the State Championships. |
